October 8, 2017

Six wildfires created a firestorm in the wine country communities of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. Many fled there homes with only a moments notice, and the clothes on their backs. Neighborhoods were devastated as the fires spread overnight and continued into the days, and weeks, to come.

Over 200,000 acres and 8,900 structures burned, displacing tens-of-thousands of people. An estimated 3.3 billion dollars of damages have been reported for insured losses

Many families have nowhere to return.

That is where we come in. With your support, we will rebuild and revitalize the cornerstone of wine country communities: homes.

Long-term giving starts here.

Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County’s partnership with Rebuild Wine Country is focused on rebuilding and repairing homes for renters who have lost their home, as well as new housing for homeowners who have been affected by these fires. Now more than ever our mission of building homes and hope in our community could not be more important. We will rebuild.

Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County

Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With community support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Habitat homes are built with 90% volunteer labor. Construction volunteers work alongside our dedicated construction team, our Crew Leader volunteers, and our partner families to help us build Habitat houses.

Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County will distribute aid to sister chapters in all Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Lake, and Mendocino counties affected to repair and rebuild homes for those who need it most.
